- Herbert Hintner, born on 2.09.1957 in Pichl – Gsiesertal as the oldest son of 4 children
- In 1972 after completing secondary school he began training as a chef in Hotel Centrale in the Gader valley
- Vocational school in Bozen
- Various hotels in South Tyrol
- First contact with creative cuisine in Hotel Klosterbräu in Seefeld
- In 1982 marriage to Margot Rabensteiner, daughter of Peter Rabensteiner and Rosa Stimpfl, owners of the Restaurant Zur Rose in Eppan
- Herbert Hintner’s philosophy: creative and innovative preparation of traditional cuisine with regional products
- Margot Hintner constantly tries to incorporate the same philosophy into the wine list
